Instrument Housing

 

The 3 snap features had a warpage problem in the original design. Because of shrinkage and distortion, several dimensions were out of the tolerance limit. This caused the part to not function per the design intent. After our design review we suggested adding a rib to the bottom of each snap feature. The customer approved the change and the tool was modified. After sampling the mold, the distortion of the snaps was eliminated and the dimensions were inside the tolerance limits. The part functioned as the original intent and the customer was very satisfied.
